Sweet Recipes You Will Try Using Golden Bansi Kesari Rava

Rava is semolina, and kesari specify to the orange color of any sweet. Kesari likewise refers to the saffron used in this flavorful sweet. The similar kesari is made in North India and is called Sooji ka Halwa. Indeed we have a Sooji ka Halwa in Gujarat too. The halwa itself has an earthy colored engaging tone which makes it more appealing.
Rava or Sooji is a popular for Indian sweet dish which is generally made during celebrations or unique events.
Rava Kesari Recipe:
Servings – 4-6
Ingredients –
1/2 cup semolina
1/2 cup sugar
4 tbsp ghee
11/4 cups water
2-3 strands saffron
1 tbsp milk
nuts and raisins
 
Method –
Soak the saffron in luke watk milk and keep aside.
After 5-7 minutes, you will see the milk going to a delightful orange color.
Warmth 1 tbsp ghee and roast the raisins and nuts. When done, keep aside.
Use a similar pan and roast semolina till light brown shade, it ought to lend a pleasant aroma. Keep this aside as well.
Heat water in another pan. Now gradually begin adding semolina in the bubbling water, mixing continually, so no lumps are shaped.
Add a little orange food tone and the soaked saffron.
Add the sugar and rest of the ghee and Cardamon powder and add nuts to it. Reserve some for garnishing.
While adding all these ensure you continue to mix the semolina from time to time.
Cook till ghee comes out and you see aromatic and sweet Halwa.
Move to a bowl and start garnishing.
 
Rava Laddoo:
Servings – 4
Ingredients:
¼ cup Ghee
6 Chopped Cashews
2 tbsp Raisins
1 Cup Rava
Half Cup Desiccated Coconut
1 Cup Sugar
¼ Cup Water.
Pinch of Cardamom powder
3 tbsp Milk
Method –
Initially in a wide pan, 6 chopped cashew and 2 tbsp raisins with ¼ cup ghee. Cook until raisins puff and cashews turn brilliant earthy colored. Move them to the plate and keep aside.
In a similar pan add 1 cup rava and roast on low fire. Cook the rava until it changes tone to light brown and turns fragrant. Further add ¼ cup desiccated coconut and roast for a minute. Turn off the fire and allow rava to cool to room temperature. Then, take another vessel and plan sugar syrup by taking 1 cup sugar and ¼ cup water.
Further boil for 5 minutes or till you make one string consistency. Turn off the flame and add cooked rava to sugar syrup. Likewise include simmered cashew, raisins and ¼ tsp cardamom powder. Mix continuously to stay away from any lumps formation. After a minute, rava absorbs the sugar syrup.
When its actually warm enough, get ready laddoos with your palm. Finally, serve rava laddoo/suji laddoo once cooled totally or store in airtight container for 2 weeks.
 
SWEET RAVA PANIYARAM:
Servings: 4
Ingredients –
Grated Coconut – ½ Cup
Jaggery – ½ cup
Maida – 3 tbsp
Cardamom – 1-2, powdered
Salt – a pinch
Cooking Soda – A pinch
Banana – optional – ½
Ghee – for frying
 
Method –
Soak rava for minimum half an hour. Now after half an hour, drain water, add all the ingredients in the soaked rava and mix well.
 
Now heat paniyaram pan, fill each shallow with ½ tsp ghee and pour the batter to fill 3/4th in each shallow.
 
Cook covered in low fire, flip them and cook until it turns in golden color.
 
This recipe is made within minutes and requires minimum ingredients. It tastes best when served hot.

 Boken wheat. Yes, broken wheat, is loaded with nutrients. It is a coarse yellow color flour made of hulled wheat. It is also known as daliya. No, no, I'm not talking about the boring daliya that you whip up instantly. In this article, I'll share a few savory recipes using broken wheat daliya, which are a perfect match for your evening coffee/tea. And compliment your health goals.
 
DALIYA KABAB:
These patties are made with broken wheat and vegetables. They are so yummy, filling, and nutrient-dense.
 
INGREDIENTS:
  • 1/2 cup -  Broken wheat /Daliya
  • 3/4 cup  - Mix vegetables chopped
  • 2 cup  - Potatoes( mashed)
  • 3 tbsp - Coriander
  • 1 tsp - Cumin Seeds
  • 2 tsp  - Red Chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp  - Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 tsp - Mango / Amchoor Powder
  • 1 tsp - Chaat Masala
  • 4 tbsp - Cooking Oil
  • 1.5 cup - Water
INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. In a cooker, add oil cumin seeds and daliya
  2. Saute it till daliya turns golden brown and aromatic.
  3. Now, toss in chopped vegetables and add water
  4. Cook this on a medium-low flame until three whistles.
  5. Transfer the cooked daliya to a plate and let it cool.
  6. Add mashed potatoes, cilantro, and other spices to the daliya and mix well.
  7. Grease your palms with oil and make the mixture into patties
  8. Fry these patties on a non-stick pan with little to no oil.

Broken wheat is made by milling whole raw wheat coarsely. It is also known as bulgar wheat or daliya. Firstly hulled wheat is cleaned and husked. Later it is processed into small coarse pieces of wheat called broken wheat. 
Daliya is rich in dietary fibers, iron, magnesium, protein, and several essential vitamins and minerals. Due to its high nutritional values, adding daliya to your diet is proved to be beneficial for your health. 
Broken wheat has several culinary uses, it can be used in making several piquant and desserts. In this article, we will learn about seven authentic recipes made using broken wheat dailya. 
 
DALIA UPMA:
INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 Cup Dalia (broken wheat)
  • 1 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup green peas (matar)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped carrot
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green beans
  • 1 tablespoon peanut
  • 1 tablespoon cashews, sliced
  • 1 – 2 green chili, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds (rai)
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1.5 cup of water
INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Dry roast Daliya over low heat till it turns aromatic. 
  2. Now in a cooker add oil and add mustard seeds, jeera, peanuts, and cashews. 
  3. Now, add chopped onions and chilies till they turn golden brown. 
  4. Later add all the vegetables and saute all the vegetables. 
  5. Add the roasted daliya, salt, and water to the pan and cover with the lid.
  6. Cook the daliya in the pressure cooker for up to three whistles.
  7. Later remove the dailya add ghee and, garnish it with coriander.  
Serve the Dalia upma with coconut chutney and sambar for an authentic taste. 
 
DALIYA DHOKLA:
INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 cup Daliya / broken wheat
  • 1/2 cup semolina/ sooji
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 green chilly/ finely chopped
  • 1 Tsp grated ginger
  • 4-5 curry leaves
  • 1Tsp Sesame seeds
  • 1Tsp Fennel seeds
  • 1/4 Tsp Hing
  • 1/2 Tsp turmeric powder/Haldi
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp fruit salt
  • 2 tsp oil for tempering
INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Roast the Daliya and Soak the broken wheat ( daliya) & durum wheat semolina (Sooji) in yogurt, add grated ginger, green chilly, and stir well.
  2. Add 1/2 cup water if the batter is thick and adjust the consistency. Add salt to taste.
  3. Heat 1/2 tsp oil in a pan. Add Turmeric and Asafetida to the mixer.
  4. Before preparing the steamer and grease two steel plates or any molds of choice with oil.
  5. Add the fruit salt to the Dhokla batter, mix well and instantly pour the batter into the prepared plates/molds.
  6. Cover the stockpot and cook IT on medium heat for 15 -17 minutes.
  7. Remove the Dhokla stand from the stockpot. Let it cool for a few minutes.
  8. The next step is tempering. In a small pan, heat oil and add the mustard seeds and once they crackle, add sesame seeds, Fennel seeds, curry leaves, and green chilies and take it off the heat.
Drizzle the tempering over the dhokla. It tastes best with green chutney and sweet chutney. 
 
LAPSI:
INGREDIENTS:
  • 1/4 cup ghee
  • 1/2 cup lapsi Dalia / cracked wheat*
  • 1/2 cup grated/ roughly chopped good / jaggery
  • 1.5 cups hot water
  • pinch of saffron strands
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
 
 
INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Heat the ghee in a non-stick pan on medium-low heat.
  2. Once heated, add lapsi Dalia and sautee it for 2-3 minutes until it turns dark brown in color and nutty aroma.
  3. Now lower the heat and add water, stirring continuously for 20 seconds. 
  4. Add saffron. Let lapsi cook for 5-10minutes until the water has evaporated and lapsi stats to leave the sides of the pan.
  5. Now add jaggery, mix well until melted. Later add cardamom and cook for 2 -3minutes until dry. 
Turn off the flame and add in some sliced nuts.
 
 
 
DALIA CHEELA:
INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 cup Dalia (Cracked / Broken wheat)
  • 1 cup Moong Dal (Green Gram Lentil)
  • 1 small finely Chopped Onion
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped Coriander
  • 2 – 3 tbsp grated Carrot
  • 1″ piece of ginger
  • 1-2 Green chilies or to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Ghee / Oil
INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Soak the Dalia and dal for 3 to 4 hrs.
  2. Then drain the water and grind it in the blender with ginger and green chilies. It is important to remember to add water gradually such that the batter should be spreadable consistency neither too thick nor too thin.
  3. Add chopped onions, carrot, fresh coriander, salt and, mix well.
  4. Heat a frying pan on medium heat and put few drops of oil.
  5. Add one ladle full of the batter and spread like dosa in a circular motion.
  6. Let it cook for a few minutes and when it turns brown at the bottom, then flip and cook on the other side until brown.
Serve hot with green dhania chutney or red chili garlic chutney, or even sauce of your choice.
 
BROKEN WHEAT DOSA:
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup 
  • Rava (Broken Wheat / Dalia) 1 Cup - 250ml
  • 1 cup Wheat Flour
  • ¼ Cup Rice flour
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 2 Green Chili Chopped
  • 1 tsp Peppercorns
  • 2 tbsp Curd (Plain Yogurt)
  • Few Curry Leaves
  • 1 tsp Salt Adjust As Needed
  • ¼ Cup Oil For Cooking Dosa
INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Take the broken wheat in a bowl. Add wheat flour and rice flour along with salt.
  2. Add Curd, cumin seeds, chopped green chilies, peppercorns, and curry leaves.
  3. Add water little by little and mix well so that no lumps are formed. Then add a cup of water to make the consistency of the batter thin like buttermilk. The batter should be very watery.
  4. Rest the batter for about 20 mins. The resting makes the wheat and wheat Rava absorb all the water and, the batter will become thick. 
  5. So again, before making dosa, add more water and make the batter runny.
  6. Heat a Tawa. Sprinkle little water to check if the Tawa is ready. Using a ladle pour the dosa batter into the Tawa. Don’t worry about the shape. Rava dosa is always in random shape.
  7. Pour very little oil around the dosa and keep the flame low till the dosa is roasted completely on the downside of dosa and turns golden brown and crispy. 
Gently remove the dosa from Tawa and place it on a plate.
 
 
LEFTOVER DALIYA AND RICE TIKKI:
INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 cup Leftover Dalia
  • 1 cup of Leftover rice
  • ½ cup Semolina/sooji
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 green chilies chopped finely
  • 1 tsp Ginger grated
  • ¼ cup Coriander leaves chopped
  • ½ tsp Red chili powder
  • ½ tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tsp chat masala
  • Oil to fry
  • ¼ cup All purpose flour/ maida
  • 2 tbsp Cornflour
  • Bread crumbs
INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. In a bowl, take leftover Dalia and rice. Mash them well with a potato masher.
  2. Add chopped onion, green chilies, ginger, and all the spices. Mix well.
  3. Distribute the dough into eight parts and shape into tikkis.
  4. In a different bowl, take corn flour and all-purpose flour. Add a pinch of salt and mix well.
  5. Toss the tikkis into this flour mixture and keep aside.
  6. Add water to the leftover flour mixture to form a thin batter.
  7. Dip tikkis into the batter and then coat it with the bread crumbs.
  8. Fry in hot oil till golden brown.
Serve hot with some chutney or dip.     
 
DALIA BARFI:
INGREDIENTS:
  • Wheat Daliya - 100 grams(1/2 cup)
  • Milk - 300 grams(1 1/2 cup)
  • Ghee - 100 grams (1/2 cup)
  • Mawa(dried milk) - 200 grams(1 cup)
  • Sugar - 200 grams (1 cup) powdered
  • Cashew nuts - 1o to 20 
  • Chiraunji(charoli) - 1 tbsp
  • Elaichi(cardamom) - 6 to 7
 
INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Place Dalia on a plate and clean it.
  2. Add 2 tsp Ghee in a frying pan and fry Daliya till it turns light brown.
  3. Add Dalia in milk and boil.
  4. Now add a 1 tbsp Ghee in the pan and fry Dalia some more, add one more tbsp Ghee then, fry Dalia till it turns pink in color.
  5. Fry Mawa separately till it turns light pink. Now add sugar to it and fry till sugar melts.
  6. Add fried Dalia, chopped cashew nuts, and Chironji to fried Mawa-sugar mixture, stir fry for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Turn off the gas and add Elaichi powder to the mixture.
  8. Grease a tray or plate with little ghee. Put the mixture on the plate and flattened it out evenly.
 Barfi will be ready in 1 hour. Now cut the desired shapes of the Barfi with a knife.

Instant Helathy Upma Recipe By Using Golden Bansi Product

Upma is a basic South Indian recipe made with semolina, spices, vegetables, and herbs. While most of the Indian breakfast takes a considerable amount of time to cook, Upma tops the list of easy and quick recipes. Upma not only being an instant breakfast, but it is also the healthiest. It is full of nutrients and goodness. If you are starting your culinary journey or you're a bachelor, then this recipe is a boon for you.          
Traditionally upma is made with coarse ground wheat, also known as Kesari rava, rava, or semolina. In this article, we will share an appetizing instant healthy upma recipe ideal for your breakfast and light meals by using Bansi Rava. INGREDIENTS:
  • Bansi rava - 1cup
  • Water - 3cups
  • Edible vegetable oil - 2tbsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2tbsp
  • Split black lentils (urad dal) - 1/2tbsp
  • Curry  leaves - 4
  • Chilies (slit) - 2 or 3 ( according to your spice resistance)
  • Finely chopped onions - 1/4cup
  • Vegetables( beans, carrots, etc) - 1/4 cup
  • Cilantro - 2tbsp(finely chopped)
  • Salt - according to your taste
  • Any nuts of your choice ( peanuts, cashews) -2tbsp
 
INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Dry roast bansi rava in a heavy-bottomed pan till it turns golden brown and releases a pleasant aroma.
  2. Remove the roasted bansi rava to a plate and add oil to the same pan and fry mustard seeds and split black lentils.
  3. Now, add curry leaves, split chilies to the pan, and saute for a few minutes on a medium flame.
  4. Add chopped onions and fry till they turn golden brown, now add the vegetables you like and saute for about 3 mins. You can always skip vegetables if you want.
  5. To that pan, add roasted bansi rava, water, salt, and mix well. Now, let it cook for about 13 mins on a medium-low flame by covering the pan with a lid.
  6. Fry any nuts you want to add in your upma and add them 3 mins before you plate the upma for extra crunch.
  7. Later, garnish upma with a dash of cilantro and enjoy your nutritious, yummy breakfast.
